Time Stand Still review by Sherard the host of the Sherard Show

Time Stand Still is a play that is written by Donald Margulies and directed by Vicky Jenson

This play features an all star cast of actors that tells a compelling story about love, pain and sacrifice through the eyes of 2 reporters Sarah and James.

From the opening scene to the final bow, you are completely drawn in to the worlds of these 2 traveling journalist whom have been together for years until a tragic accident challenges the very core of their relationship. Sarah is forced to come home back to the states after a roadside bomb nearly kills her while covering a story in the Middle East. James feels guilty that he wasn't there to protect her, until he finds that she slept with one of the foreign aids during his 2 week hiatus from working with the crew.

As the story progresses, you come to meet a mutual friend of Sarah and James name Richard, who is also a reporter and writer. And although his character comes off a bit self seeking, it is obvious that he truly cares for both Sarah and James. His heart is in the right place towards his 2 longtime friends even in the mist of his midlife crisis  trophy wife "Mandy" played by Nik Isbelle.

Mandy an air head up and coming Event Planner charms the audience with her off the wall comments and remarkably naive opinions as she seeks to win the affections of Sarah and James during this tumultuous and tense period in their lives. Later as the play progresses, we come to find that James has been doing some serious soul searching after Sarah's near death accident in the Middle East. His soul searching led him to giving Sarah a proverbial ultimatum with regards to taking their long relationship to the next level. Without being a spoiler for those who haven't seen this wonderful play, I simply say that the reaction of Sarah towards James proposal is worth the price of admission alone and is a wonderful climax to the play.

In conclusion:

Time stand still more than delivers on all areas of emotion, leaving one to laugh, cry, cheer and reflect on their lives, asking themselves what's important and what's most important. I was left with a feeling of sadness from knowing what goes on in those mid eastern countries on a daily basis. I also felt courageous, because of the strength of Sarah and her resilience. When a play takes me on a ride that makes me feel a multitude of emotions and brings me down safely, I say...job well done guys!
